I absolutely love animals, and am especially fascinated by the wild ones. Many of my favorites are reptiles. I also like plants, and am mesmerized by beautiful bodies of water. Id ream of catching big fish, the likes of which I have never seen in my waking hours. Perhaps this is an expression of my hopes of making some discovery that will truly and completly satisfy my professional ambitions. I am an economist by profession, but that doesn't really lend itself to exciting dreams.

I caught this cotton rat while flipping with Naomi. I don't recommend catching rodents with your hands, since they bite much deeper than reptiles of similar size, and rodents can carry rabies. I just caught this one impulsively, and I was lucky not to be bitten.

Our new toads, Chase and Olivia, eat crickets in this video. We have been keeping them well fed and happy for a week and a half now. They are pretty fun pets.

Naomi finds american toads in her rock pile by the patio. We found three there in just the last two days. She piles the rocks one day, the searches through them the next.
