Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, young producer Omar "Shabouki" Edwards. Shabouki, a name given to him by his friends while playing Cricket for Tarrant High, began his musical career in the 1999 as an rhytmn maker. His outstanding work in programming sounds quickly led to persons liking him as future producer and over the past eight years. Omar have been behind the scene creating alot of catchy riddims that i will destroy the air waves when he's ready to release.There is another side to Omar. He's an outstanding achiever and feels that attending Tarrant High School was the greatest think that could have happen to him. He remembered when he was told at Dupont Primary that Tarrant High was the school he had passed for and how everyone reacted as if to say that he was wont less.While attending Tarrant, Omar change the whole thinking of the student by enforcing that its not the school who make you a failure but yourself who fail to believe that anything can happen through hard work and dedication no matter the school of choice.By 8th grade, Omar was well known in the school by everyone for his work as motivational speaker, outstanding student, and a top class cricket.In 9th grade, he won a scholarship from the Carriers Group for outstanding working in the classroom and at Cricket. The rest of his school years were history as he went to pass every test and national exam he sat.Why you haven't heard about Omar? Well Omar believe that balancing both the books and Music is very important. So, he has choose to pursue his 4 years Bsc in Computer Science which deals with programming at the Univeristy of Technology (Utech) and at the end of it. He will be fully ready for the Music world.In the next five years time, Omar, see himself producing some of the next hit songs to come and also working with some of the artists, musicians and producers in the music industry. He also stated that one the reason, he wants to become a producer is to help the ghetto youths from his community who are potential artists and musicians. He says the youths of his community aren't given the opportunities to express themselves, which is a vital part in their development. He feels that if he can help them and showing them another way to life. It will only go a far way to make Jamaica a better place. I'm sure Omar will be a force to reckon in the music industry along with the great Sly and Robbie and King Jammys.
