This, again, was a custom effect created by request for an Australian client. What would happen if you found a half squid - half mutant alien / human on the beach? In the end, this silicone sculpture was animated through a custom microprocessor and servos in a 'steam punk' style tank.

This is the performance of "Father Frost", one of 6 20 foot tall mechanical puppets made for the production of "The Snowmaiden". Design criteria: it had to be puppeteered by a 100 pound ballerina! Each puppet has 9 degrees of freedom controlled via cables and precision machined pulley mechanisms....
