Apr 17, 2008 - Brilliant audio on 80 M ... how many levels of DSP does it have / is the DSP switchoffable ? ... good luck with any Summer DX videos ...

theshortwavelistener Says:

Apr 18, 2008 - 3 levels of DSP :)3.0K, 2.4K and 1.8K - each can be set between SOFT and SHARP settings. Works great!73 :)

Apr 18, 2008 - Yip same as my FT - 2000 , 897 , 857 ... but you probably don`t need to use them all as too heavy DSP can muffle audio a noggin ... de MI3WQT ...

Aug 11, 2008 - Nice. Can you tell me, can you get the same frequency range on this ham rig as you can on a comparable receiver (listening only)?

theshortwavelistener Says:

Aug 11, 2008 - Of course. You can get very good Eton shortwave receivers or a benchtop scanner for the same frequency ranges. Message me if u need models etc. Or you could get your ham license (which is easy) and talk to the world :P73 DE MI6TUX

Aug 11, 2008 - Thanks! I have a SONY2010 portable, but I would like to upgrade, and of course the option of HAM is very attractive. I definitely would consider a transceiver over a trad receiver setup now.

theshortwavelistener Says:

Aug 11, 2008 - Yep. Have a listen around the ham bands and get your license. I see you're in the US so it'll be easy to get a license. When you have a General license you can get on HF and talk across the world. :)73 DE MI6TUX
