Chapter 13 - MARATHON 7/15It my first day of school. The day I always dreaded. I was lying in bed my eyes, opening and closing. I turned to look at my clock. It was 6:00. I needed to leave at 7:30. If I was going to be ready and on time, then I would need to get out of bed right now. I got up and walked over to my window and opened the curtains. I opened the windows and let the morning breeze hit my face gently. In the house next door, I saw Nicholas' room. I sighed. We still hadn't forgave each other. This is going to be a long day of school. I closed my window and headed to the washroom. I got in the shower and jumped as the water was cold at first. I started singing the lyrics to the first song that popped in my head; bleeding love. I finished up and got out of the shower. I wrapped a towel around me and walked over to my closet. I pulled out my purple skinny jeans and a grey top that had the words 'listen to the words of the music' on it in shiny purple, red and black writing. [A.N: haha, I really do have that exact shirt.] I got my simple black vest and plain old black converse. I changed into my outfit and headed back into the washroom. I brushed my teeth, then my hair and began to dry it. When it was dry, I straightened it and combed through it only about 6 times. I walked over to the huge mirror in my room and added a little makeup. I looked at the watch. 7:05. Good. I still had time to eat breakfast with everyone. I grabbed my bag and walked downstairs. I put my bag by the door and walked into the kitchen to see everyone eating. Josh looked up."You better eat fast because Nick and Joe are coming over soon to walk you, Mark and I to school." Josh said, mouthful of pancakes. I nodded and sat down at the empty chair next to Heather. I put some pancakes on my plate and drowned them with syrup. I poured myself a glass of orange juice and finished everything in 6 minutes. The bell rang as I put everything in the sink. I walked over to the door and opened it. I saw Joe and Nick standing there, sleepily. I called for Josh and Mark. We said bye to everyone and we were headed off to school."So" I started to say to Joe. "Are there any of those stupid cliques at the school?" I asked."Oh yeah." Joe said. I groaned. I hated those stupid cliques."How many are there?" I asked."Well let's see...There are the jocks, the populars, the stuck-ups, the losers, the nerds, the dorks, the normals. You know, those ones." He said and I groaned again."So which one are you in Joe? The dorks?" I teased."Ha-ha. Very funny." He said sarcastically. "And which one will you be in?" He asked. I sighed."Probably one of 'the losers' because thats the category I was put back at my old school.""Well lucky for you, this isnt your old school. Chill. Don't worry. You'll probably just be one of the normals, like us normal people." Joe said pointing to himself and Nick. I laughed. We continued the rest of the walk in silence. We finally got there, and we saw the typical high school. Kids getting off the bus, Jocks doing those weird handshakes, girly girls and populars running up to each other and screaming about the new manicure or hair they got on the weekend. Things like that. I sighed. Since me, Josh and Mark were new we had to head inside the school to meet the principle. We said bye to Nick and Joe, well I only said bye to Joe because I was still mad at Nick, and walked into the school. We found the principles office and waited outside talking to the secretary. We were waiting to get called in when the bell rang. Good. We'll be missing some homeroom and hopefully whatever class I have first period. 10 minutes later we were called into the principles office. The principle, Mr. Hoffman, was just like any other principle I ever had. He didn't care about the students. All he cared about was earning money, being in control and making the school look like an amazing place to get education. He talked to Mark first, handed him his schedule and he was off. The same went for Josh. But when he got to me he hesitated and I rolled my eyes. This was probably going to be some other lecture about my file and how I could be a fabulous student if I tried."Now, Maryanne... It says here that you used to be such a wonderful student who always got A's but suddenly all that changed and your grades started dropping and you became a "rebel"?" Yep, he was going to do the whole lecture thing."I guess." I shrugged and he sighed. He said everything other teachers and principles had always told me and he warned me not to try any pranks because he had been warned about some of my previous pranks at other schools. He handed me my schedule and I was off to my first period class; Math. Oh great. I hated math. This was going to be one LONG day.--------------Dun dun dunnn!
