CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - I will be making a video as soon as I get my new camera on how to make this. This is just a preview. Sorry the title is a little misleading.I'll be getting it very very soon though so stay tuned!

Nov 19, 2008 - whao what do you mean burn the steel
CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - When putting on the black coating you have to heat it up with a barbecue if your not careful the heat may burn the carbon within the steel causing the temper to be ruined.
GregMPaulk Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - thanks for the heads up
GregMPaulk Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - instead of blackening the sword could you buy black gun metal or would it be to weak or expensive
CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Ummm, I'm not really sure. I've never worked with that kind of metal before. I would probably stay with the high carbon steel if you can get a hold of it. You'll just have to watch it doesn't get too hot. (Don't worry it's rather easy to do it doesn't need to get very hot to turn it black the way I do it.)

CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - In the tutorial I'll be covering at least one easy way to make a gripThis one had none at the time I shot the video but the one in the tutorial will have a wire wrapped handle.

Nov 19, 2008 - omg where do u get that >:O
CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - If you're referring to the steel you can get it at almost any large hardware store. If you're referring to the sword I made it and you will be able to make one too once I makethe tutorial. :3
Silverfang15 Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - obviously able to cut plastic, would this cut through the bone if enough force was applied?
CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Yes, most definitely. I have done test cuts on bamboo with the thickness of the human wrist bone. It cut relatively clean through. bamboo is about the closest you can get to cutting real living bone.
Silverfang15 Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - well hurry up and get that camera, 'cause them damn zombies ain't gonna kill themselves!
CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Lolit will be out by the end of the month without any doubt. Those zombies won't have t owait much longer. XD
hatemeyouBa Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - how durable is the sword how much abuse do you think it will be able to take?
CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - i have been using it scince june regularly and it hasn't shown any major signs ofdeformation. It will be very durable when you make it but it will not be as good as a high carbon steel sword. This of course will depend on how intensely you use it as well as how often.
CryosWolf Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - yes you defenitely could but it would take longer and you would have to be very careful not to burn the steel when you are making it black but otherwise it is possible
