Nov 19, 2008 - I think the point is that this union guy is saying there doesn't need to be a secret ballot vote by the workers of a company to have a union. He forgets we live in a democracy and not the USSR.

Nov 19, 2008 - Last time I checked no one could force you to join, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY PAY DUES TO, a church if 51% of the people in your town decided they want one.

Nov 19, 2008 - Uhm What's your point??? A Union, like a church or buisness can be formed by anyone. Current law the union needs 50%+one of employees to sign a "Check Card" Then there is a secret ballot of the employees of a buisness to decide wheather or not they want a Union. Seems fair. under EFCA the union need only get the cards signed. 50%+1 and the Union is certified, No secret ballot. This opens the door to undue pressure and intimidation of employees from both the union and the employee. Not fair.
