Nov 19, 2008 - We have 6 horses 3 of which we are having to sell, because we cannot afford to feed all of them this year. Prices for hay, where I live are between $160 - $200.

Nov 19, 2008 - this is so sad. I board my horse at a barn that has 60+ horses i can't imagine the price for hay, pellets, shavings, and other expenses!

Nov 19, 2008 - How sad, the fate of these poor horses. Improperusername, you are so right. People still breed and breed and then you see this, its pathetic. I think with thinks the way they are, there should be a program for horses like dogs for low gelding/spaying of mares, etc. Thanks for posting this very informative video

Nov 19, 2008 - Good thing they shut down all the slaughter houses in U.S. Now no horses are suffering, the economy is great, and the price of feed is so affordable? LOL

Nov 19, 2008 - i dont see why people just cant sell horses instead of do this. they are beautiful creatures and people dont respect that. I love horses and I wish I could just stop it everywhere
ImproperUsername Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - They would like to be able to sell them, but the market sucks, because of the economy. Folks are worried about being able to afford fuel for their cars and trucks so they can get to work, and they're worried about being able to afford hay and feed.
