Our dear friend and dedicated activist, Elizabeth Fineron, died this week after a long illness and medical procedures botched at the local hospital. She fought until the end, directing much of the 4,000th US dead candle light vigil from her hospital bed. She was a Chicago native who moved to Colorado Springs in the mid 80s, and was a nun and schoolteacher who left the vocation but never left the Catholic Church. In the Springs she worked with Bijou Community, an organization that helped found the Marian House Soup Kitchen and other services for the poor and homeless. As a resigned nun, she wasn't much better off financially than those she served. She can bee seen in many videos here and on CSaction.org. She will be horribly missed by the peace community here.http://ppjpc.orghttp://csaction.org/Calendar/liz.htmlhttp://csaction.org/StPatsDay/31707.html
