UPDATE 11/2/08: BIG NEWS! It seems we have some hope of MM being worked on by ADV/Someone else! On Clan TVE's official Mermaid Melody page (Note that this is the Spanish network where MM is currently airing in Spain, this is also where I found this english trailer) it shows a short clip of "Taiyou no Rakuen," the first Mermaid Melody opening, in ENGLISH. And it's really good. This could be some possible evidence that the english dub of MM is secretly being re-produced. If you would like to see Taiyou no Rakuen officially in english, please go here: http://www.clan.tve.es/?go=111b735a516af85cd875cc585adbab63c55681f4f67f2aaa477f7508a0f97ee29eb4c5af57671ad705ef5e1c649c918fcadb894e50a6210b5ef2d3052f1175de601449009496f88ef4795d9cad0d7af1bc8cdc6afce9488d5680314f5578b356Note that the Taiyou no Rakuen clip replaces this english trailer that was originally posted on Clan TVE. First a trailer, now the theme song in english...What's next? And note that all these english clips are coming from the SAME Spanish website! What could this mean? In Spain english isn't even the native language! Will just have to see what happens in the future. I'll keep you guys updated. ***I found this information thanks to the clip of Taiyou no Rakuen that xXLuchiaChanXx posted.***----------------------------------------UPDATE 9/10/08: Thanks to isearchforfullmoons for emailing ADV Films on this matter on last Sunday, 8/31, we have figured out that Mermaid Melody IS NOT RELICENSED FOR 2009 BY ADV. THIS IS NOT A RECENT TRAILER. This was the old trailer from 2004 back when ADV had the license. This was the reply to isearchforfullmoons's email to ADV Films Customer Service:"Hello, There are no plans at this time to release Mermaid Melody. Thank you, ADV Customer Service."So there you have it. Mermaid Melody is once again UNLICENSED until further notice. Please spread the word to stop the rumors about ADV licensing this for 2009. Obviously, this show has been worked on to some extent, and ADV wouldn't spend all this money on it if the show wasn't going to get released at some point, but right now we know that ADV will not release it. It might be ADV jointed with someone else, just like it has teamed up with FUNimation to do distributing for some select titles (ADV does the dub, FUNi distributes). But this is just an assumption. All we can do is hope for the future. ----------------------------------------Hi everyone! BIG NEWS! I found the official Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch US English Dub Trailer in a link that Holygott sent to me through email. Thank you Holygott! So now I'm uploading it for you guys! It's so exciting that we now have some proof that Mermaid Melody was actually worked on by ADV, but the only problem is that we don't know if this is a trailer that was suppsoed to have aired in 2004 when Mermaid Melody first got licensed before it was dropped. So let's hope that this trailer means that Mermaid Melody is currently in production for future release. According to wikipedia, There have been rumors floating around that this will release in 2009, but TREAT THIS AS A RUMOR. ADV hasn't confirmed this themselves, so we cannot be sure.It looks like that the dub is done very well. In the Trailer, a clip is shown of the girls singing Super Love Songs! in english. The singing is quite good even though the lyrics don't exactly match the translation. According to the trailer, I discovered who are playing some of the characters. (And Thanks to EmperorBrandon & kenwastolemyname, We now know Hanon & Rina) For our all-star ADV cast, We have so far:Luci Christian as Lucia NanamiBrittney Karbowski as Hanon Hosho Carli Mosier as Rina ToinBlake Shepard as Kaito DomotoTiffany Grant as HippoMonical Rial as Nikora(I can't tell who Taki is, sorry)According to animenewsnetwork, Alice Fulks and Melissa Pritchett are listed as actors, but it does not say who they are playing. I hope Mermaid Melody can be put to DVD soon if this means it's officially licensed. Without further ado, please enjoy the Official US Trailer of Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch! WHOOO!!! Feel free to rate and comment!IMPORTANT NOTE:***NO COPYRIGHT INFRIGNEMENT INTENDED. THIS TRAILER IS (C)ADV FILMS. CitizenofNerima Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - And just how exactly does this suck pray tell? ADV is doing this dub, not 4kids, and ADV has made great dubs. And the voice actresses they picked are perfect. I can't stand you goddamn anime purists, man. You're the most annoying people on the whole planet.

CitizenofNerima Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Well I think we can all say that anime purists are idiots. :)

CitizenofNerima Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Rina is played by Carli Mosier, who's best known as Detective Widget in Nerima Daikon Brothers (great show by the way, I got clips of it uploaded on my channel)

khgal Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - There is nothing wrong will people prefering dubs over subs or subs over dubs. Some people prefer the feel and original acting style of the Japanese w/subs. Others prefer to watch it in their own language and like dubs. Some (such as myself) don't mind either way. In the end, as long as you enjoy the series, it doesn't really matter what audio track you watch it in as long as you're having fun. After all, anime is really fun, and we all love it jsut the same! :D

khgal Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Yep! I think both languages are good in their own way. I like this dub.

khgal Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - ADV is still in buisness. They have just been out of it for a year due to their transfer over to their new parent company, Sentai Filmworks. This replaces Sojitz, their former company. ADV has currently licensed Clannad, Princess Resurection, and Indian Summer (OAV). They are also currently going to be distributing titles under Sentai Filmworks. So far, These titles are Mahoromatic, Tsukihime, Pet Shop of Horrors, and Jewel BEM Hunter Lime.

kamichamaichigo Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - OMGEE! i just found this atircle!!!:'( T-T (i copied and pasted it from wikipediaADV Films acquired the license to the anime on June 2004 for its North American release, but was eventually dropped due to difficulty in finding backers and securing a TV airing deal.[1] Although the anime has not since been re-licensed for an English language distribution, Del Rey Manga acquired the rights to publish the manga for the North American audience.

Natarsan Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - NOOO!!! i liked the japanese ver

theassasin251 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - It looks legite. I haven't seen the whole series yet, but it looks interesting. The dub also came out nicely.

CitizenofNerima Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Wait, let me get this straight. ADV dropped the license just because they couldn't find a TV network to show it? Why would they do that? Did they NEED to show it on TV? Why couldn't they just at least release the DVDs? That makes no sense, and it's a stupid reason to drop a license.

Knowltey Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - Actually ADV has confirmed it, at SogenCon.

loveallanimals14 Says:

Nov 23, 2008 - lol sorry but the song they did 4 it, "come on come on come on, just be who u r!" uuuummmmm its gonna be ok but i LOVE the Japanese version
