He was joined by investment advisor Catherine Austin Fitts in the third hour, and oil expert Matt Savinar in the last hour. The dollar has lost 41% of its value during the Bush administration, and we're going to see company failures so big they won't be able to be bailed out, like Bear Stearns, said Celente. He cited the Federal Reserve, which functions as a private company with no congressional oversight, as one of the major problems. Predicting food & gas riots, as well as tax revolts, Celente suggested diversifying your savings among a number of banks, if you have more than $100,000. Catherine Austin Fitts commented that the demise of Bear Stearns may have been a hit job, "cannibalized" for the good of other finance companies. There is an effort underway to centralize the economy and shift assets away from local communities, she warned. Fitts described these efforts as "economic warfare" being conducted on a global scale, that is fostered by technology and "invisible weaponry," such as satellites. The US economy is being purposely "pumped and dumped," she noted. Matt Savinar said global oil supplies have plateaued, and with lessening oil reserves it becomes increasingly expensive to bring up the remaining oil. Prices will continue to skyrocket upwards, he suggested, as we enter the down side of "peak oil." Tapping unused reserves in the United States and Canada will only postpone the problem for a short time, and the theory of abiotic oil is a kind of misinformation, Savinar argued. The oil crisis is an "economic 9-11," and we're going to see a crash worse than the Great Depression, Celente added. Jul 15, 2008 - It's out there, but you don't know where?

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - How much energy does it take to make a wind turbine, a solar panel, etc? It takes energy to make energy of any kind! I have been following this situation for years, both energy and economics. All the "preparations" you have suggested I have done many years ago. No credit, growing and storing food, food stockpile, guns, ammo, stored fuel, seeds, medical supplies, etc. etc. etc...the whole package. I live in a small tight knit midwestern community with family members close. No worries for me.

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - I just think it would be more constructive to present the "problem" then present realistic "solutions". Solutions everyone can afford and have access to. Last time I went to the car dealer--no electrics cars, no air powered cars, no fuel cell cars, on the lot. A lot of people suggest solutions that at this time do not exist or are to expensive. I looked into solar for my house....$40,000??? Waaaaay to expensive. I don't buy into this peak oil "now" (or man made global warming for that matter)

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - I'm sure reduced oil availability and production will occur at some time. This problem should have been anticipated by "our" government many years ago. If they had addressed the problem, alternatives would now be available and the infastructure to support them. But....they didn't. Sooooo, most will not be prepared at all, and those that think they are prepared will certainly find kinks in the armour.

KARStarla Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - It takes less oil (less parts) to build an air car then a regular car. Besides once the "transportation" that transports them is also changed over to air that wont come into the equation. You cant expect it to change overnight by counting against it what already exists to produce one.I'd prefer horse and buggy but theres no place to park one Man... Amish had it so right, now I get why they are off the grid because of something like this

kkob Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - I don't mean to be rude, but you almost certainly haven't looked at Peak Oil closely, and your position on Climate Change is just stupid. The evidence is incredibly overwhelming. What is your opposition based on, gut feeling? Facts trump. CO2 is 85 ppm (that's 30%, give or take)higher than at any time in the last million (millions, really) years, but you think it's just an accident?Congrats on your preparations. But, WHY? No CC? No PO? Then why?

kkob Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - "This problem should have been anticipated by "our" government many years ago." It was. Google Jimmy Carter and energy policy. Google Hubbert. Google Adm. Rickover. Etc.

kkob Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - "This problem should have been anticipated by "our" government many years ago."You got a time line? Biggest mistake people commenting on PO make: they think there are decades of time to prepare. There aren't. I promise you. Read the Hirsch Report. It's linked on my blog.

KARStarla Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - Your saying "do nothing but bitch about it"?I dont mean to be rude either, but do you have a ingenious solution you'd like to share with us? Or are you just interested in shouting how stupid everyone is?Your approach will turn ears from you, but that might be your desired goal I dont know

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - Actually, the current CO2 concentration is about 380 ppm (according to several studies). The Vorstock ice core samples show peaks in CO2 in 1825, 1857, and the highest in 1942 at 400ppm. In addition, CO2 is not a major factor in climate temperature. CO2 levels have been rising and falling sharply long before the industrial revolution. It is naturally occuring. Check it out. Google Earth CO2 level history. Gut feelings? Not this time my friend. It a hype and you've been duped.

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - Demand for oil has risen dramatically due to increased consumption in developing nations, mainly China. Oil field development and refinary construction have not kept pace. There are many more places to get oil, it just should have been started years ago. Will oil run out, of course it will. I just don't buy into this doom and gloom, the sky is falling mentality. We should be developing alternatives and when they are available to the public at a affordable price, I will buy them.

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - As far as my preparations. It's all about economics. I feel we are headed for a severe recession or depression in the next year or so. My guess would be last quarter 2008. Things will get bad. Falling stockmarket, bank failures, staggering inflation, rising unemploment. Many people today are rude, inconsiderate, and flat out vicious. Just watch the news. Take a mans job, savings, house, pride, and he will do things he would normally never even consider. He will do whatever it takes to survive.

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - I don't want to be in a "needy" situation if this happens, so I prepared. As a bonus, some of my stock items have appreciated in value due to rising inflation. I have earned 25% on some items in the last 12 months. I consider that a decent rate of return on my money with no risk. Good luck to you my friend.

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 15, 2008 - 380 ppmv.

kkob Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - This is a problem with Americans: they have forgotten how to think. (I'm American.) There's nothing in my post that suggests what you state above. You have made an assumption based on your anger at my response. My response was intended to make a very simple point: you don't have time (15 years to turn over the national auto fleet) to fill the world with air cars. I told you: read the Hirsch Report. Did you? No. You are the one dong nothing. I've read the report. Read it. Time is short.

kkob Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - No substance. FACT: we didn't build new refineries, but capacity at EXISTING refineries has gone up more than 1 mb/d in the US alone. In fact, refineries ALWAYS operate at less than capacity. We have enough capacity to handle another 1.5 mg/d. BUT we need sour crude refineries. Most are light sweet. (Why are you talking out of your ass on this topic? The doom and gloom comes from knowing OIL production has fallen since 2005. Russia just started falling. Again. That's a - change of almost 1mb/d.

kkob Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - And you're not doom and gloom? WTF?

kkob Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - I'll need it. We all will. Me? I'm looking to community. Cooperation. Living with, not against, the natural systems around us. I will have a home that needs no outside energy, will grow my own food. You?

KARStarla Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - I agree with the forgetting how to think, if your pumped (unknowingly with flouride) and theres a campaign against you on every level falling into a deep sleep is a natural reprocusion. I wasnt talking about wasting the vehicles to buy new ones but converting what we "already have". Your asumption is incorrectI have watched nearly 10,000 videos (please look for yourself) trying to learn as much as I can in less then 3 months, so please dont judge me. Your approach can harm the message

KARStarla Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - I'm very happy for you about your ability to pay for all the energy thats not grid connected, being (for the most part) bedridden with arthrtis in my spine I cant afford such systems. I have collected buckets to grow my own food because I am unable to work the land. Not everyone has their health and the ability to do what you have. You must realize that. We are no less concerned simply because we have not been as fortunate as you

kkob Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - My approach can harm the message? Wth are you talking about? I've said nothing to "harm" any message. Two, WHAT message? YOUR message? Whose message? I've stated facts of the situation, have challenged some lies by one poster and stated my hopes for myself and my family. Your comment is bizarre, frankly.

KARStarla Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - You dont feel someone with a good message could harm it by throwing stones as they deliver it?

Patriot1415 Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - Talking out of your ass???? Why can't you conduct a civil conversation or debate??? I don't have time for people with your attitude. GOOD BYE.

kkob Says:

Jul 17, 2008 - You haven't shown where I've thrown stones. Perhaps you should be more specific? It's also not clear what "message" you mean: AGW? PO? Collapse? Ecovillages? You should never expect me to be polite to climate deniers. There is nothing to support such a stance and a long history of them being paid mouthpieces. I consider them to collectively be committing crimes against humanity. BTW, if more stones had been thrown at BuCheney and Exxon, we'd be a lot closer to solutions today.

Aug 1, 2008 - Newsflash for Matt, 10% is a very good profit margin, any company would be happy with that, even 5% is very exceptable.
