During the chorus contest at the barbershop convention in Nashville (2008) the webcast server went down and all who were watching online lost their connection. The signal was lost while members of the Dundalk, MD chapter were being interviewed. Everyone's computer screens froze on the frame of this guy who was talking on the webcast. For the next three hours we crossed our fingers that the server would come back online. Every time we tried to refresh the connection, the picture of this guy came up.A lot of people were angry and frustrated, especially since the two best choruses in the contest, Masters of Harmony and Ambassadors of Harmony had not competed yet. To make light of the situation I took a snapshot of this guy and tried to make some humor out of a frustrating situation. My humor was not directed towards the picture of the man but the failure of the webcast. My apologies to the gentlemen whose face was frozen in time on the webcast.

Jul 5, 2008 - I feel bad for whoever this guy is. He's the face of failure that was the webcast tonight

Jul 5, 2008 - I know, me too. What's funny is this guy has no clue that his mug has been shown on more computers tonight than anyone in the whole contest!

Jul 5, 2008 - yes, it's too bad he got way past his 15 minutes of fame, and his chorus had actually done fairly well, too...

Jul 27, 2008 - What really makes this bad was that this was the Fourth of July. Many of us had given up plans to attend our local celebrations of our nation's birth, with the attendant fireworks, fellowship, great music from local musicians and military bands, etc., all to watch this webcast: that this cut out on us. By the time we knew it was permanent for the night, it was too late to go to the Independence Day celebrations.

Jul 28, 2008 - Thanks for reminding me of this face! What a horror it was to see instead of the final groups of competition AND the grand announcement of the winner! I missed all of our fireworks waiting in hopes that the webcast would resume; alas, nothing but this face!!!
