This is a raccoon that was found in my neighbor's chimney. This animal will be euthanized. There are funny laws in Washington state that say you can't transport the animal to a sanctuary because it stresses him too much...so they euthanize it. I am still trying to wrap my head around it. The critter control guy seems a bit callus* but he expressed remorse to me off camera for having to have to put it down. He too would like to let it go free somewhere. I wanted people to see how tuff these animals are...also, that when you call animal control, catch and release is probably not the outcome. he also had a squirrel in the back that was going to be killed.
