An in-depth view of our current healthcare system. Big government is unaccountable, price sets causing shortages and supply shifts raising prices. It also uses inflationary taxes to get revenue without going to the voters."When a government takes over a people's economic life it becomes absolute, and when it has become absolute it destroys the arts, the minds, the liberties and the meaning of the people it governs."~Maxwell Andersonhttp://shanklinmike.angelfire.com/blog/Please help Ron and many other Americans this year by voting for the true classical liberal paleo-conservative Bob Barr! It's time for us to control overprinting money that leads to inflation(your dollar losing value). It's time to cut taxes(seriously). It's time to protect our right of religion, free speech, and right to assembly! It's time for real economic growth that can only come from freer markets and less government corruption and inefficiency! It's time for us to set an example for the rest of the world!Barr/Root 08www.lp.org http://lpf.org/wastedvote.htm Videos very few people get to see!watch?v=V-4kCD4nbrwwatch?v=SzTozC3PCF4watch?v=eZ49bu7xklwwatch?v=Im0Wqj3BSvU#Don't just vote, vote with a cause.....otherwise, stay at home and enjoy the day. It would be better than voting for one of these two war, loss of liberties, high tax candidates. Instead give liberty a voice and save our country! Barr will be on all 50 state ballots and write-in votes are thrown away!lpf(dot)org/wastedvote(dot)htm

Sep 3, 2008 - You'll never understand my argument becuase your moral system is different than mine. It's still coherent, but only if you know my moral system. I know people aren't perfect, but liberals don't attribute bad decisions to "bad character." We take social forces into account. We place equality as the top priority. We see the government as the one to fix the problem of inherent inequality in society. People aren't born equal, some born into wealth..some born poor. It's just not stealing to me.

Sep 3, 2008 - Oh they use food stamps to put gas in the car? to buy clothes? THere are tons of poor people that dont get foodstamps. Foodstamps cant pay electric bills, water bills, paytolls, medical emergencies, or much of what you really need to get your life together. Believe me the poor are not the ones winning on this one.
mortson978 Says:
Sep 3, 2008 - the poor have already lost. Federal income taxes pay for Social security, roads, fda, faa, nasa, and the military, and the fbi, and the cia, and the (parks). The poor dont pay the federal income tax, when they are jobless. Those who have jobs, and are still poor, are poor, because they are living irresponsibly. They carry debt on credit cards with 28% annual interest. They buy houses with variable rate mortgages, when they can barely afford the payments from the start.
mortson978 Says:
Sep 3, 2008 - But it is stealing for someone who built their business from the ground up. You acknowledge people are not equal. But we all deserve equal treatment under law. Otherwise there would be no incentive to change, or to better one's own situation. Where is the incentive to work harder, if it means the govt check will stop coming. That is why the child of a person on welfare is 3 times more likely to go on welfare, then the child of a person not on welfare.
Jaric55 Says:
Sep 3, 2008 - Exactly. Equal treatment means equal in outcome. The incentive is so they can have a higher standard of living. People don't become wealthy on welfare. Welfare is also not permanent. You can't become dependant upon it if it won't always be there. Everyone deserves health care. Everyone deserves a home and food. It must be payed for. Where is that money going to come from other than those who can afford it? Simply put...I won't let people starve or go without a home, no matter their "character."
mortson978 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - Equal treatment, is not equal outcome. Equal input. That's a fallacy for another time. You assume these people cant provide for themselves. Even the handicap are able to provide for themselves. They don't need a check. The idea that these people who sit indoors not working, cant provide for themselves is downright offensive.
Jaric55 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - It's not that they can't work, but it IS that they can't provide for their entire families. Someone has to scrub the toilets. The sewer lines run under the rich neighborhoods too. Those jobs don't pay well, but someone has to do them. That idea IS offensive, and is RARELY the case. In any case, our priorities are different, and that's why you won't be able to persuade me..you keep proposing solutions that reach your goals, and not mine.
PHATHCOX Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - If you're referring to the USA as a wealthy nation right now then study your history. It's not the first superpower and it won't be the last. Past superpowers include Spain, The United Kingdom (they had an empire at one time) The USSR (communist nation that had a system of redistribution of wealth wonder why that failed) and the list goes on. In my example I didn't even suggest a wealthy person I said imagine it happened to YOU whatever you circumstances there is always someone with less.
PHATHCOX Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - I am at least happy you realize some people get ahead in life by honest means. Whether it's hard work (my own father never had anything handed to him but worked 37 years in the postal service for everything he has, a good idea that takes off (Bill Gates with Microsoft) but penalizing those who do well ignores human nature. If a person does well but is only going to get it taken away and given to someone else by force why bother? Where is the incentive to achieve and do better in life?
moneymagnetelizabeth Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - WTO should be banned. Bottom line and Congress is eager to take money from corporations.
icofbaby1 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - I dont know how you define poor, Last I check only 5% of Americans were jobless. There's alot more poor than 5%. Check the stats. That also inlcudes thousands who have college degrees and CAN'T find jobs. Capitalism doesnt allow everyone to be ok. Capitalism is set up on competition which means some will lose and some will win, even if they all try hard or have same character. Most countries in the world are capitalist and most countries in the world are poor. it doesnt work.
icofbaby1 Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - But you cant complain when you contributed to that person having less. I didnt say it was just the USA, All the superpowers have blood on their hands. In your example, helping the other family in your home is the only way to prevent civil unrest or war. Teach that family to be as strong as you and you too will be stronger. Every country where you have USA Army base should welcome its citizens with open arms or leave their countries. Power comes with responsiblity my friend.
PHATHCOX Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - Finally we have some common ground let's go with it. "Teach that family to be as strong as you and you too will be stronger." I can agree with that basic concept. Through education/job training people can become qualified for higher paying jobs by which economic achievement follows but only after personal responsibility (go get that higher paying position). Prosperity will never come from taking money away from some to just give to others. In the end it teaches nothing to those who receive it.
PHATHCOX Says:
Sep 4, 2008 - Another point on which we can agree. "Every country where you have USA Army base should welcome its citizens with open arms.." If people want to LEGALLY come into the USA then I say welcome. There is a process to be followed but once they are citizens they can contribute to the economy and make the country stronger. A point where we disagree "you contributed to that person having less." That's not always the truth and you know it. Personal responsibility here. Get that better job and achieve.
icofbaby1 Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - I agree. Like Capitalism, Charity doesn't work for the poor. All we/they need is work/jobs. Period. So if we want to elevate the Black community or a 3rd world country, trade with them so they can increase production. But anyways, USA gives aid to control others. We are not in the business of empowering, but colonizing and economic enslaving, and I believe this is wrong. If we did more business with Mexico, they wouldnt need to come here to find jobs or take our orders. and thats the truth!

Sep 7, 2008 - This guy rules
shanklinmike Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - Trust me, I do understand. I just personally believe that Barr getting a high number now will get Paul some attention in 2012. You really think your write-in vote will make an impact? I do love Ron! Peace
shanklinmike Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - So you think we have capitalism? We lost true capitalism long ago! Today we have a mix between socialism and fascism that took over our once prosperous capitalist culture yeeeeears ago. Go research the Federal Reserve and the percentage of market share the government has. Freedom is the only answer. The republicans and democrats are wrong! Peacewatch?v=V-4kCD4nbrwI hope you like the last video in this series. It really has helped open a lot of eyes to the world around them.
bbburton Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - Ron Paul is going to be on the ballot in Montana, so it looks like I won't have to do a write-in.
shanklinmike Says:
Sep 11, 2008 - Do you have a link that shows this information? Thanks, peace!
bbburton Says:
Sep 11, 2008 - I read it in the Independent Record, a Lee Enterprise newspaper published in Helena, Montana. I don't have a link for it, but you can go online and read the IR on their website.

Sep 13, 2008 - The republic will not survive!! The last collapse of 1929 found 90% of the population on rural 40 acre farms snd they were self sufficient. My parents/grandparents didn't know what money was anyway. Just imagine what it would be like now. Very few know how to survive (even in the south where I'm from). The teens I deal with are mostly dumb as a box-a-rocks but they sure do know how to make babies. We're sooooo screwed, it's over folks. You better get on a small farm and fast!!
NoogLeader Says:
Sep 18, 2008 - Kill for the cause. Stop using the Federal Reserve Notes(U.S. Dollar bills). We need send each and every dollar we have back to the Federal Reserve with this on them: "FUCK YOU. WE DON'T NEED YOUR STINGKING DEBT MONEY ANY MORE."
mortson978 Says:
Sep 3, 2008 - they dont pay income tax, and if they use food stamps they dont pay sales tax.
